Downtown Toronto IN THE DARK: One of the city's largest shopping centers has been evacuated, the traffic lights are not working
Electricity went out in downtown Toronto, leaving the offices of Canada's largest companies in the dark and the evacuation of one of the city's largest shopping centers.
The electricity distribution company said that around 10,000 customers in the central part of the city were affected.
An investigation has been launched into the incident, but so far there is no information on the cause.
The Toronto Stock Exchange said its offices were temporarily without power, but not computer systems.
Traffic lights stopped working in one area of the city.
